The OK Chorale

The Oklahoma City OK Chorale, a barbershop chorus and a chapter of the Southwest District of the Barbershop Harmony Society (formerly SPEBSQSA), has enjoyed continuous success and popularity in the years since it was organized in 1938. The Chorus has sung and competed on many stages, including not only District and Division contests, but six appearances at the Society International Contest, placing as high as 6th in very stiff competition. In Southwest District competition, the OK Chorale has taken the gold six times since 1985. Most recently, in March 2008 the OK Chorale took first place in AA Division competition.

Today, the OK Chorale has a roster of nearly 70 singers of all ages and from all walks of life. Included among the active membership are quartets, both old and new, who along with the Chorus itself, provide entertainment across the State. The Chorale is frequently asked by the Oklahoma State Arts Council and the Metropolitan Allied Arts to provide singing entertainment for various large functions. Traditionally, the Chorale also holds a Christmas Concert for youngsters and a major Spring Show for the general public.

In all respects, the OK Chorale lives up to the Society motto, "Keep the Whole World Singing!"
